Exercises/practical sessions 1999-2000

session 1-2 : networklab
  • configure a network with routers, switches and Windows and Linux PCs
  • Assignment and documentation will be distributed
  • in groups of 3 to 4 students
  • period will be announced later
  • students reserve a timeslot

session 3 : practical session RMI
  • create a small distributed application with RMI
  • practical session in a PC-room 
  • exact date/time will be announced later

session 4-5 : practical session:  sockets & distributed algorithms
  • implement a distributed algorithm using sockets
  • practical session in a PC-room
  • exact date/time will be announced later

 
 

Exam

  • The exam is open book with a limited time (at most 4 hours) for a written preparation
  • students are expected to have insight in the course material,be able to solve small exercises, demonstrate algorithms with examples, be able to explain relations
  • for at least two of the questions you will have to explain your answer
  • for the other questions you will have to handover your answers on paper.
