LINUX:
To use truetype (*ttf) fonts on linux add a truetype font server to your fontpath.
Such servers (xfstt) listen on port 7101 on taurus.cs.kuleuven.be (net 45) and on front.cs.kuleuven.be (net 39).
Choose the font server of the net on which your machine is connected:
xset fp+ tcp/taurus:7101
or
xset fp+ tcp/front:7101
The default *ttf font directory is /usr/share/fonts/truetype.
SOLARIS:
To use truetype (*ttf) fonts on solaris (not on X-terminals) add the font directory to your fontpath:
The original fonts:
xset fp+ /usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType/
New installed fonts:
xset fp+ /usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType.new/
