Post-conference excursion There will be a post-conference excursion on Saturday September, 27. It will be a bus tour including a guided visit to Dubrovnik, a drive along the Adriatic cost, lunch in a small town of Ston and a visit to a wine cellar. Price is EUR 42 per person, including bus, tourist guide, entrance tickets, lunch (drinks paid separately), and wine tasting. Tickets will be available at the reception desk of the Atlas tourist agency in hotel Croatia. The excursion is organized especially for ECML/PKDD-2003 conference participants and accompanying persons.

Excursion program 09:00 Start of the guided bus tour from hotel Croatia. Stop for a hill-top view of Dubrovnik from a hill. Visit to the center of Dubrovnik including the Lovrijenac Tower, Dominican Monastery, and the cathedral with its treasury. 11:30 Buses leave Dubrovnik in the direction of Ston (the drive will take a bit more than one hour, on a very pitoresque - but busy - road along the coast), visit to the town of Ston, its walls and Ston salt fields. 13:30 Lunch in the well-known Ston restaurant Bota (a two course menu including a salad is pre-paid, drinks have to be paid separately). This restaurant is famous for simple shellfish dishes, but other dishes are available as well. 15:00 Buses leave in the direction of the pitoresque Peljesac peninsula, the best-known wine region of Croatia, famous for red wines Dingac and Postup. Wine tasting in wine cellar Milos on Peljesac. 16:00 Buses leave for Cavtat with a stop for the visit to the Arboretum in Trsteno, the park with the collection of exotic and decorative trees and the summer residence established at the end of the fifteenth century, situated on terraces which come down to the sea. 18:45 Return to hotel Croatia.
