By train
Leuven is along the railway line Brussels-Liege. There are trains from Brussels every 30 minutes and the trip takes about 20min. You can take the train from any of the main stations in Brussels (South, Central, and North). If you are coming from Amsterdam (or other train to Brussels which passes Antwerpen) then you can also change in Mechelen. Consult the timetable of the Belgian Railways NMBS.
From the train station in Leuven (map):
- A taxi will cost approx. 5 €.
- Take bus number 2 direction Campus or Boskant. Take off at Naamsepoort and follow this map.
- A walk by foot will take about 30 minutes.
By car
- Take the highway E40 (Brussel-Luik).
- From E40 take the exit E314/A2 Leuven-Hasselt-Genk between exit 22 (Bertem) and exit 23 (Haasrode).
- From E314 take the exit 15 and follow directions Leuven.
- Once you are in Leuven (Tervuurseport) turn right and follow the ring around Leuven (Tervuursevest). Just before the first traffic lights (Naamseport) turn back. After you pass the gas-station and the restaurant Waaiberg turn right and stop at the parking. Here is a map.
By plane
Brussels National Airport (Zaventem) is about 25km from Leuven. There are trains every 15 minutes to Brussels North where you can take the train to Leuven. A taxi from the airport to Leuven will cost around 50 €.

hotel located just between the conference site and the city centre (5
min. distance from each). Professor is about 10 min, Ibis and
Jackson's are about 15 min by foot, and Holiday Inn is about 20
min. Car access from all hotels except those located next to the train
station or the AC Hotel is not very convenient. There are also frequent bus
connections from various places in town (including train station and town
center) to the conference site (bus stops "Sportcentrum", "Capucijnenvoer" and
"Naamsepoort" are closest).
